Police: Man tried to lure 16-year-old girl with marijuana, sex

DUNBAR TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Fayette County man is facing several charges after state police said he tried to lure a 16-year-old girl into his car.

State police said 24-year-old Clarence Belsar offered the girl marijuana and sex when he pulled up next to her in Dunbar Township on Friday.

“He offered her drugs and you know, some other things to entice her to get into the vehicle. She again said no,” Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Stefani Plume said.

According to court records, the girl was able to run away and alert her parents, who then went after Belsar.

“The truck followed Clarence up to the house and then came back here and waited for state police to show up,” witness Mike Bradley said.

Police said there’s a fine line for parents in situations like this.

“We never want people to take things into their own hands. In this situation, they didn’t approach anyone like that. They were just able to follow the vehicle and give a location to police, Plume said.

Belsar is facing charges of corruption of minors, attempted luring and possession with intent to deliver. He remains jailed on $25,000 bond.
