Police: Mom arrested for prostitution while son was waiting in motel lobby

PITTSBURGH — A mother was charged with prostitution in a Banksville Road motel room, and police say her son was waiting in the lobby.

Police said they arranged a meeting with Amanda Caruso who was advertising in the escort section of a website.

Police arrived to find the woman's husband Ronald Ransom in the lobby with her 6-year-old son believed to be acting as a lookout.   According to police, Caruso was in the room and made a deal with the officer for sex.

According to court documents, police found heroin, empty stamp bags and exposed syringes next to the child's toys.

The child told police that he does not go to school and he is not allowed to be around when mommy works.

CYF took the child.  Both Caruso and Ransom were arrested for prostitution-related and child endangerment charges.

Police said Ransom told them he knows this is illegal but they need the money.
