EVANS CITY, Pa. - A 94-year-old Evans City woman was given the gift of hearing thanks to a police officer who went above and beyond the call of duty.

Sara Fulton told Channel 11’s Amy Marcinkiewicz that she had been saving up for a hearing aid until thieves took all of the cash she had saved.

According to Fulton, the officer who was assigned to investigate helped her get a new hearing aid.

“I just love her. I can’t believe she’s done this for me,” Fulton said. “This is the best Christmas present ever.”

Evans City police officer Trina Loesch got friends, family and the entire Evans City community involved to help raise money to get Fulton a new hearing aid.

“I helped you because I fell in love with you. It was just something we do here,” Loesch said.
