Man charged with forcing woman to disrobe before robbing her

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man was charged on Monday with forcing an elderly woman to disrobe before robbing her in Rostraver Township last week.

Errin Rose was arraigned through a video conference Monday.

"The victim positively identified our suspect as the one who came to access her residence, demanded money and demanded she disrobe," said Chief Greg Resetar on Friday.

Channel 11's Joe Holden reported Rose was treated in a hospital for chest pain Friday.

Channel 11's Courtney Brennan talked to the 83-year-old victim last week.  The woman said she was scared and wouldn't be able to sleep until police caught the robber.

According to police, Rose was after money to buy crack cocaine.

Police said Rose told the victim he ran out of gas and needed to use her phone.

According to police, Rose then forced his way into the woman's home, made her undress and took some cash.  Police said Rose said he had a gun but never showed it.

"It's very quiet here.  Nobody bothers anyone.  I'm shocked," said neighbor Carrie Morris.

Police said they were able to link the robbery to Rose using surveillance video from a Sheetz on Route 51 and two other places.

Rose had warrants out for his arrest for failing to show up to court for other theft cases, police said.

Rose's bail is set at $500,000.
