Man accused in fatal Beaver Falls shooting turns self in (VIDEO)

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — A man accused in a fatal shooting earlier this month in Beaver Falls turned himself into police Friday afternoon.

Authorities said Tyrone Savage is charged in connection with the May 9 shooting of Anthony Slappy Jr. on Tank Alley.

Beaver Falls Police Chief Charles Jones said investigators believe a dispute between the two men prompted Savage to shoot Slappy.

"Not only did I lose my son, but I lost a friend, too.  We talked.  We shared things.  It hurts me to have to go through this," said Slappy's father, Anthony Slappy Sr.

Slappy's father said his son has five sisters whom he was close with and he lived with his grandmother.

Slappy's grandmother witnessed the shooting.

"She's struggling.  She just happened to be on the porch when everything happened," said Anthony Slappy Sr.

Savage is charged with homicide and carrying a firearm without a license, police said.
