Slaying in Homewood marks Pittsburgh's first homicide of 2014

PITTSBURGH — A shooting in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood unfortunately marked the first homicide in the city for 2014.

Investigators said the shooting happened on Kendron Street around 6:30 p.m.

Police released a photo of the victim, 28-year-old Fredrick Douglas, Thursday evening.

Investigators said they found Douglas lying on the street with gunshot wounds to his stomach and leg.

So far, no arrests have been made and police have not said if a motive has been determined.
