Police: Tenant stabs landlord multiple times with fork after being served eviction notice

PITTSBURGH — Police said a landlord of an East Hills apartment building was stabbed multiple times by a tenant who was served an eviction notice on Friday.

Investigators said they were called to the apartment building on Bricelyn Street Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the 52-year-old suspect used a fork to stab the property manager at least five times in the arms and shoulder.

Authorities said a maintenance worker managed to disarm the attacker while someone else called police.

The suspect in the case was arrested and taken to the Allegheny County Jail. Police said the woman is facing attempted homicide and aggravated assault charges.

“I don’t know why she just didn’t go to court. They probably would have let her stay. She had until November,” a tenant in the apartment complex told Channel 11 News.

The victim was rushed to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in serious condition.
