PSP investigating shooting at Aliquippa Police Department building

ALIQUIPPA, Pa. — State police are asking for help finding the person who fired shots at a police building more than a month ago.

Investigators say just after 12:01 a.m. on July 1, someone fired multiple rounds at the police station in Aliquippa.

“I’m just so angry about the whole situation,” Lori Caler said. “You’re supposed to be able to go there and feel good about it ... nothing is safe anymore.”

According to state police, bullets struck the rear wall, ultimately entering the patrol room and a second-floor closet. A cruiser and a personal car were also hit. No one was hurt.

Pat Watts has lived in the area for decades and wasn’t surprised someone would be bold enough to shoot at the police station.

“I’ve lived here for about 20 some years, and there’s been a lot of different shootings and cases. I just hope they find who did it,” she said.

If you have any information, state police ask you to call 724-773-7400 or speak anonymously to a criminal investigator at 800-4PA-TIPS (800-472-8477).
