Public hearing scheduled on closure of North Allegheny school

MCCANDLESS, Pa. — Parents in one of the area's largest school districts will get a chance to make their voices heard on a plan to close one of their schools.

The North Allegheny School District has plans to close Peebles Elementary School. Wednesday night, board members voted to a hold a public hearing before the final vote takes place.

Peebles Elementary was recommended for closure because of a declining population in the McCandless area.

The public hearing is scheduled for Jan. 30.
