Rain, snow continue into Monday, winds will pick up

PITTSBURGH — Rain and snow continue this evening and snow showers will continue into Monday. A coating of less than 1″ is possible for Pittsburgh and the southern areas. Beaver and Butler Counties could see up to 1″. Areas north of Rt. 422 could also get around 1″. Ridges and mountains could see 1″ to 2″ in possible spots.

You could expect some slick travel conditions Monday morning with light slushy accumulation on roads. Watch for slippery spots, especially on bridges and overpasses. Take it slow and allow extra time to brush off your vehicle in the morning. Winds will pick up on Monday and scattered snow showers will be around so make sure to dress in warm layers. Highs will be steady in the mid-30s but wind chills will be in the lower 20s.

We will get a brief break between systems during the day on Tuesday, but the winds will stay up. Wind chills will be in the 20s on Tuesday.

The next system will come into play overnight into early Wednesday morning with snow across the area changing from freezing rain to rain during the day. This system will end with rain back to snow overnight Wednesday into Thursday. There could be wintry impacts both Wednesday and Thursday morning from this storm. Snow showers will be around again on Friday.
