Residents, business owners complain about ‘falling apart' building

MUNHALL, Pa. — People who live and work near a Munhall building that’s been falling apart since last summer contacted Channel 11 News to voice their concerns.

Munhall residents and business owners told Channel 11’s Vince Sims that the building on East Eighth Avenue is not only dangerous, but it’s bad for business. They also went before the Munhall Council to complain about the building.

“It’s been like that since August with no signs of movement,” Pat Ramicone said. “It can’t stay like that forever. The more time that passes, I feel like no one cares.”

Ramicone said she’s upset nothing has been done since the roof caved in on July 29.

Orange barrels are set up on the sidewalk near the building that force people to walk in the street because nothing has been done about the building.

“Our customers are usually carrying laptops and computers, and now they have a further distance to travel because parking is always tight,” Ramicone said.

Borough officials said they’re working with the property owner to fix the problem.
