Search warrant: Handwritten note among items seized from stabbing suspect's locker

PITTSBURGH — Investigators seized 12 items from the Franklin Regional High School locker of a sophomore student accused of attacking his classmates with two knives, according to a search warrant inventory returned Wednesday.

According to the filing, Alex Hribal's locker was searched just after 4:30 p.m. on April 9, hours after he allegedly injured 19 classmates and a security guard.

Westmoreland County Detective Ray Dupilka retrieved the following items:

• an LL Bean backpack

• a handwritten note  (District Attorney John Peck declined to release the details of the note.)

• a Samsung cellphone

• a student handbook

• six school binders for various subjects

• a plastic bag containing gym clothing

• a textbook

It's the second search warrant inventory to be returned to the district judge's office for warrants that were obtained on April 9.

Investigators believe Hribal, 16, took two 8-inch stainless steel kitchen knives to the school and attacked others in a first-floor hallway. He is charged as an adult.
