• Severe thunderstorm watch issued through 9 p.m.


    PITTSBURGH - A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the entire Channel 11 viewing area through 9 p.m. Wednesday.

    Severe Weather Team 11 meteorologist Kevin Benson said showers and storms moved into the area Wednesday afternoon.

    “Any storm may include flooding downpours, gusty winds and lightning,” Benson said.

    Benson said he expects Wednesday to be very warm and humid with a high temperature around 87 degrees.

    Wednesday night will also be warm and humid, with a low temperature around 71 degrees, Benson said.

    Benson said he also expects showers and storms on Thursday. Heavy downpours are possible at times, he said.

    Thursday’s high temperature is expected to be around 79 degrees.
