Severe Weather Team 11: Cool temps, chance of showers

PITTSBURGH — Parts of the Channel 11 viewing area have a chance to see showers Monday afternoon.

"There will be a disturbance moving across the area today, bringing a chance for showers," Severe Weather Team 11 meteorologist Valerie Smock said. "The better chance to see showers will be into the afternoon, and most look like they will track into the southern two-thirds of the viewing area."

Smock said she also expects to see more clouds than sun -- keeping temperatures below the seasonal average.

The high temperature Monday is expected to be about 58 degrees, 10 degrees lower than the average of 68.

Smock said she expects Monday night into Tuesday morning to be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature around 40 degrees.

Tuesday should be nicer with clouds and sunshine, Smock said. She anticipates a high temperature around 67 degrees.

“The warmest air of the season will move in for the middle-to-late week,” Smock said. “Highs will get back into the 70s and even 80s on Thursday.”
