Sidney Crosby surprises Penguins season ticket holder

PITTSBURGH — More than a dozen lucky Pittsburgh Penguins fans got a special delivery on Monday when players hand-delivered season tickets.

Sandy Darling, of Squirrel Hill, got a knock on his door from team captain Sidney Crosby.

“My legs started shaking and I didn’t know if I was going to be able to stand. Who has Sidney Crosby come into their house? It’s one in a million,” Darling said.

Darling has been a season ticket holder since 1970, and the team said his name was selected at random for the surprise from Crosby.

Evgeni Malkin, James Neal, Marc-Andre Fleury and nine other players also delivered tickets to fans.

The Penguins’ first preseason game is Sunday.
