Snow expected in Pittsburgh area Thursday-Saturday

PITTSBURGH — Snow is expected to move into the Pittsburgh area Thursday night.

Thursday will be dry during the day with wind chill temperatures in the teens.

At 8 a.m., Chief Meteorologist Stephen Cropper said the temperature will be 19 degrees. At noon, it will be 26 degrees and at 7 p.m., it will be 29 degrees.

The snow will move in from the northwest late Thursday night and will continue off and on Friday throughout the day, Cropper said.

Scattered snow showers are expected Saturday.

Cropper expects 1-2 inches of snow for the Pittsburgh area through Saturday.  Areas north of Pittsburgh and higher elevations could get more.
