Police: Scott Twp. man gave boy Xbox in attempt to cover up molestation

PITTSBURGH — Police said a Scott Township man is facing charges amid accusations of molestation.

According to the criminal complaint, Gary Burgess, 44, sexually assaulted a boy on multiple occasions, beginning when the boy was 7.

The victim told police that the assaults happened three to four times. Police said the boy is now 13.

According to police, the boy told investigators Burgess had drank a lot of beer and was drunk during the alleged assaults. He also said Burgess said “be a good monkey” when he wanted to be touched.

The victim told police that Burgess told him not to tell anyone and rewarded him with an Xbox video game system.

One parent who lives near Burgess said he was a nice guy who was good with kids.

Burgess is charged with five felonies including corruption of minors, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault and endangering welfare of children.
