• Student killed in accident while working on senior project

    Updated:

VENANGO COUNTY, Pa. - An 18-year-old senior at Franklin Area High School was killed Tuesday night in a tragic accident while working on his senior project.

Investigators said Carl Wickline III was working on a car at his home in Venango County for his project when he was crushed to death.

Franklin Area High School officials said they brought in counselors to help students cope with the loss of a classmate.

“He was a good kid. He was involved in everything, like baseball and sports,” Wickline’s friend Kenneth Tasker said. “He would never pass a person up. He would always stop and help them out anyway he could."

Wickline’s friends have since created a Facebook page called “In Memory of Carl Wickline.”
