• Superheroes surprise Children's Hospital patients

PITTSBURGH - Several of the world’s most famous superheroes surprised patients at UPMC Children’s Hospital Wednesday morning as they rappelled down the side of the building and washed windows.

Among the superheroes participating were Batman, Superman and Spider-Man (Click here to see photos). The men work as window washers at Allegheny Window Cleaning, Inc.

“They’re having a tough time so anything we can do to bring a smile to their face is better for us. We all win,” the man dressed as Captain America said.

The children’s spirits were visibly lifted as they watched some of their favorite superheroes.

“I was thinking, ‘What is he doing out there washing windows? He should be saving the world,’” Martiese Davis said.

Wednesday was the second time the superheroes surprised the children. The first time was in October.
