Suspected heroin dealer kicks officer in face during traffic stop

INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. — A suspected heroin dealer is facing more than drug charges after police said he kicked an officer in the face during a traffic stop Wednesday night.

Indiana Borough police said 27-year-old Rickie Robertson, of Braddock, is in the Indiana County Jail on aggravated assault on a police officer and several other charges.

Investigators said Robertson was pulled over for a traffic violation on South 7th Street in Indiana when officers discovered a large amount of heroin in his car.

When police attempted to arrest Robertson, the criminal complaint says he attempted to run away. The responding officer chased and caught him, but during the arrest Robertson is accused of kicking the officer in the face.

Once in custody, police said they also found crack and a large amount of cash on Robertson.

In addition to the assault and drug charges, Robertson faces resisting arrest, escape and disorderly conduct.
