Tanker truck catches fire in Freeport

FREEPORT, Pa. — Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a tanker truck fire Tuesday afternoon in Freeport.

According to 911 dispatchers, the truck caught fire along the Laneville Bridge just after noon.

There’s no word what caused the fire, or if any injuries were reported.

PennDOT officials said Route 356 is closed in both directions between Buffalo Street and Old Pike Road. The road is expected to reopen by 4 p.m.
