Thieves smash windows of several cars in restaurant parking lots

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Authorities in Washington are investigating after several cars were broken into Monday night at two restaurant parking lots.

Police told Channel 11’s Cara Sapida that the thief or thieves broke side windows of cars and stole items that were left in plain view.

At least four cars, one in the Applebees parking lot and three in the Red Lobster parking lot, were broken into.

According to investigators, the thefts occurred before 6 p.m. Investigators said they believe those responsible used an item that didn’t make a lot of noise to break the windows.

Police called the incidents “highly unusual” because the cars were locked and it was in the afternoon.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact police.
