• Truck, car collision snarls traffic on I-79 near Wexford

    WEXFORD, Pa. - A rollover accident involving a truck and car snarled traffic on Interstate 79 south Friday morning near the Wexford exit.

    According to police, the accident was reported in the southbound lanes of I-79 about 11 a.m.

    Investigators said two people in the truck that rolled over were trapped inside. Both were still breathing and talking when emergency crews removed them.

    The roof of the car involved ripped off during the accident. The driver’s condition has not been released.

    According to Allegheny County emergency dispatchers, the southbound side of the road was blocked, and traffic north of Route 910 backed up while crews worked to clear the scene.
