Truck driver admits to being distracted before crashing into pole

ROBINSON, Pa. — Drivers and local businesses were affected Wednesday morning when a truck driver crashed into a pole.

Officials said the accident happened along Steubenville Pike just before 8 a.m. Wednesday between Baldwin and Windhaven roads.

According to police, the AAA flatbed tow truck slammed into a utility pole and the driver admitted to being distracted while driving.

The accident closed Steubenville Pike to commuters and cut off power to several nearby businesses.

Authorities said the power was restored and the road reopened just before noon.
