• Serial arsonist suspected in string of fires at vacant Jeannette homes

    JEANNETTE, Pa.,None - Police in Jeannette said they suspect a serial arsonist is to blame in a string of fires that began in October.

    Jeannette police Sgt. Keith Rosky said there have been nine arsons in the city that detectives have linked together between October 2011 and January 2012.

    Rosky said all of the fires have occurred in abandoned buildings that have no electricity.

    The first fire happened at Monsour Hospital on Route 30 on Oct. 8.

    The fires then happened at 600 Davidson Street, 416 South 6th Street, 728 Chambers Avenue, 602 Division Street, 106 Chestnut Street, 420 Division Street and 110 North 3rd Street.

    Jeannette police said they do have "people they're looking at" but stopped short of saying they have a suspect.
