Vandals, burglars target Mercer Co. church twice in 2 weeks

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police are investigating after vandals and burglars have targeted a Mercer County church more than once in the past few weeks.

Vandals spray-painted vulgar messages on the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Shenango Township about a week and a half ago, police said.

Authorities said burglars then broke into the church earlier this week and stole several speakers.

“They probably used some type of screwdriver or something. They shoved it in there to break the locks and entered through the window. They took things like equalizers, speakers and all sorts of electronics,” Pastor Randy Nims said.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact police.
