• Victim says man had 'machine gun' during road-rage confrontation in Union Twp.

FINLEYVILLE, Pa. - According to the police report, Matthew Nowak said he was driving on Finleyville Elrama Road about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when he noticed a car behind him.

"They were tailgating him with their high beams on," Southwest Regional Police Chief John Hartman said.

Nowak told authorities that he pulled off to the side of the road, and the tailing vehicle also pulled over.

Police said Nowak told them a bald-headed white man got out of the car from the front passenger seat.

"A person exited the vehicle with what he (Nowak) thought was a machine gun and started yelling at him," Hartman said.

Nowak said he then drove off, and the vehicle followed him for a few miles before discontinuing the chase.

Investigators said the car was described as a new black Chrysler 300 M SRT8 with tinted windows and large rims.

"Any officer who comes in contact with this vehicle is to treat it as if the occupants are armed and dangerous," Hartman said.

Police said they do have a few leads, and they don't believe the men are from Washington County.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Southwest Regional Police at 724-929-8484 or by private message on their Facebook page.
