Washington Co. firefighters called in to assist battling W. Va. blaze

VALLEY GROVE, Ohio — Firefighters from Washington County were called to help fight a fire across the state border in West Virginia Tuesday morning.

According to Channel 11’s news partners at WJPA, crews from West Alexander and Claysville helped fight the flames at a building in Valley Grove, Ohio County.

The fire left nearly 350 people without power when crews shut off electricity in the area for safety reasons.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
