• Washington Co. mom accused of beating, burning 3-year-old son

    WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. - A Washington County mother is facing several charges after police said she severely beat and burned her young son.

    Shyann Sanpietro is accused of burning and hitting her 3-year-old with a belt.

    State police said the boy was covered in bruises when his grandmother took him to the hospital on July 3.

    Sanpietro told investigators that her son falls a lot and the burns were psoriasis. Doctors determined the injuries were from abuse.

    She remains in the Washington County Jail on aggravated assault, simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges.
