• Water, ice shut down stretch of Peoples Road in Ross

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Police on Sunday evening shut down more than a mile of Peoples Road in Ross in both directions because of an apparent water main break and icy conditions, authorities said.

As of 8:15 p.m., all four lanes of Peoples Road were closed from Ivory Avenue to Babcock Boulevard, Allegheny County 911 dispatch supervisors said.

Salt trucks and water company crews were en route to address the problem.

County 911 operators said Peoples Road was reopen as of 10 p.m., but representatives of West View Water Authority, which operates the water system in the area, said repair crews were still working and at least some lanes were closed.
