Two reports were taken by officers from people saying a man had come to their door last night saying he had supplies during the coronavirus pandemic. Police said the man claimed he was working for someone named Gina.

“I was actually on our prison board conference call this morning and it was sent to me on text messages. Somebody found it on Facebook,” said county commissioner Gina Cerilli.

She believed this person was trying to use her as the ploy because she’s on the prison board. She put out her own warning on social media.

“I’m assuming it’s me. I am the only Gina on the prison board. I’m the only female on the prison board so I was assuming that’s what they’re trying to do to get in the door and south Greensburg is actually where I’m originally from. It makes me consider whether a senior citizen could open the door and hear my name and think it is real,” Cerilli said.

Police said they do not know if the man is dangerous or what his intentions are, but said there are currently no permits to solicit in the borough.
