Wilkinsburg school guard to trial on teen sexting charges

WILKINSBURG, Pa. (AP) — A high school security guard has been ordered to stand trial on charges he had unlawful contact with a 14-year-old student, including kissing her and exchanging sexually charged text and Facebook messages.

Michael Tolbert, 26, ran to his vehicle and wouldn't comment after his preliminary hearing Thursday on institutional sexual assault, corruption of minors and other charges.

Wilkinsburg police said the eighth-grader's mother contacted them Nov. 21 after noticing her daughter was coming home late from school and had a strange phone number on her cell phone.

Police arrested Tolbert after they said he told them in an interview later that day that he had kissed the girl on school property and exchanged messages with her.

Police said the Wilkinsburg High School guard sent the girl hundreds of messages.
