Women arrested for heroin possession in East Liberty drug bust

EAST LIBERTY, Pa. — Two women were arrested after conducting a drug deal with undercover officers Friday in East Liberty.

Police said Ashley Wilson and Dashaei Byars sold heroin to the officers in the parking lot of the Target in East Liberty while Wilson’s 2-year-old daughter was in the car.

Officers then followed the vehicle from Target to the Walgreens on Penn Circle South, where the women were taken into custody.

According to authorities, as officers approached the women, one of them submerged heroin in a cup of water in an attempt to destroy it.

Wilson and Byars are facing charges, including possession of heroin and tampering with evidence. Wilson is also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Wilson’s daughter was placed in protective custody and CYF was notified.
