WASHINGTON, D.C. — A video of a Chick-fil-A employee attacking a man at a Washington, D.C. location has gone viral.

The footage began circulating online Thursday after a Twitter user uploaded it to the social media platform, where it has been viewed more than 4 million times.

The cellphone recording shows the worker, a young man, attacking an older man inside of the restaurant. In the one-minute clip, the employee hovers over the man and punches him in the face and head multiple times before another individual restrains him. Several employees and customers are heard shouting and screaming during the chaotic scene.

While it is unclear what happened before the video, Chick-fil-A, Inc. did confirm the incident in an emailed statement to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“There is a viral video circulating of an altercation that took place last night between a restaurant team member and an individual in a franchised restaurant.
