ORLANDO, Fla. — Walt Disney World donated $20,000 to help a Florida high school band after a fire damaged students' personal instruments, rehearsal space and other equipment.
Park officials surprised the East Ridge High School band Friday with an oversized check and appearance by Mickey Mouse.
"It's football season," said Rena Langley, spokeswoman for Walt Disney World. "We need to get those kids back out there on the field and having a good time."
Parents had also raised more than $16,000 through a GoFundMe account.
