NFL will keep 'Sunday Night Football' in Tampa Bay for now, but has contingency plan based on Hurricane Ian

The NFL is still hoping the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can play "Sunday Night Football" at home against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. The league has not moved the contest yet, but has a contingency plan depending on the severity of Hurricane Ian, according to Judy Battista of NFL.com.

If the league deems it unsafe to play the game in Florida, it would shift the contest to Minneapolis. The game will reportedly still be played Sunday night.

The Buccaneers are hoping the game will be played in Tampa Bay. But head coach Todd Bowles is making sure his team is prepared if the site moves.

The Buccaneers have already experienced some changes as a result of the storm. The team is practicing in Miami to be farther away from Hurricane Ian.

Bucs players and staff were told they could bring their pets and families to Miami in order to keep everyone safe.

Hurricane Ian is classified as a Category 4 storm and is expected to make landfall in Florida on Wednesday. Roughly 2.5 million people were ordered to evacuate before the storm hit.
