Twenty-seven-year-old Eric Garcia Mulero also faces aggravated assault, reckless endangering and weapons charges.
Police say the shooting happened May 5 in front of the Bethlehem home of a woman who has two children with the defendant, who was supposed to be coming over to visit the children.
Authorities allege that he was opened fire from a car, hitting a 27-year-old man five times. Detective Blake Kuntz said the victim was left paralyzed.
Kuntz testified that Garcia Mulero said he "believed he would be in jail for the rest of his life." Garcia Mulero's attorney didn't immediately return a call seeking comment Tuesday.
