• Student entrepreneurs create shuttle service for university

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - Two students at Pennsylvania's Marywood University have created a shuttle service for their classmates to help them get to downtown Scranton.

Kendall Farrell and Dimitri Thompson's shuttle service launched on Wednesday and costs $2 each way. The Scranton Times-Tribune reports the friends took the idea to university President Sister Mary Persico, who had them work on the service plan with the school's vice president of business affairs.

NET Credit Union donated $10,000 for the shuttle to help act as a "safety net" for expenses. Farrell and Thompson say their financial projections show the shuttle service is self-sustainable.

The pair says they hope the shuttle van becomes popular enough for the school to add another van.
