Person hit by speeding car in Indiana

INDIANA, Pa. — A person was hit by a speeding car over the weekend in Indiana.

The accident happened on Philadelphia Street Saturday.

According to police, the car was driven away from the scene by a friend of the driver.

"The vehicle that struck the pedestrian was no longer at the accident scene.  The operator of the vehicle did stay at the accident scene.  We were able to quickly locate the vehicle that struck the pedestrian, and we were able to conduct a thorough investigation from that point forward," said Justin Schawl of Indiana police.

Police are not releasing the victim's name.   They said charges are pending against the driver.
