Voters in the 18th Congressional District started casting their votes at 7 a.m. for the person they want to replace disgraced Rep. Tim Murphy.

“This is something else. I've never seen it so crowded and it's great,” Anita Radin, a Lamb supporter, said.

Lamb was confident in the efforts of his team when he visited his polling place in Mount Lebanon.

“I just know that we have worked extremely hard. I'm really proud of all the people who have worked with me, and I think it's going to pay off,” Lamb said.

Saccone addressed the race before a swarm of reporters when he voted at a precinct in Elizabeth Township.

“The Democrats are trying their best. They're throwing everything they can at this race. There hasn't been an open seat for a long time and, you know, they see they might have an opportunity, so they're going to do everything they can to get there,” Saccone said.

Supporters of Saccone said they are voting red with the economy in mind.

“Let's get back to the good times,” Bill Chorgo, a Saccone supporter, said. “I think he's a good man. He's an honest man. I think he'll do a great job in Congress, and we need a good man in Congress bad.”
