PITTSBURGH — City leaders wanted drivers to slow down in some neighborhoods around Pittsburgh, so they installed speed humps on several roads. But drivers are apparently just swerving around them in areas, according to Mayor Bill Peduto’s Chief of Staff.
Speed humps are made to slow down traffic to protect our neighbors. They are not made to swerve around and drive in the parking lane/bike lane. Pittsburgh Police made 47 traffic stops on Beechwood Blvd and issued citations. Please slow down and drive safely to protect each other

47 traffic stops were conducted on Beechwood Boulevard and citations were issued, according to Daniel Gilman.
The speed humps were installed near the Frick Environmental Center, among other areas, after a study was conducted showing large numbers of drivers speeding on parts of Beechwood Boulevard.
