• Person shot on busy Carrick road


    PITTSBURGH - 10:30 PM UPDATE: The man inside a car that had been shot multiple times was grazed by a bullet in his arm.

    The victim was taken to the hospital.

    5 PM UPDATE: Brownsville Road has reopened. 

    4:45 PM UPDATE: Brownsville Road is shut down in both directions because of the shooting.

    The road is closed between Maytide Street and Churchview Avenue.

    3:45 PM UPDATE: A black Pontiac riddled with bullets is at the shooting scene in front of a sandwich shop on Brownsville Road. A bullet hole can also be seen in the door of the sandwich shop.

    The victim is no longer on the scene.

    One person was shot Wednesday afternoon in Carrick.

    The shooting occurred in the 2600 block of Brownsville Road, an area filled with small shops just north of the border with Brentwood.

    Police are on scene and investigating. The severity of the victim’s injuries was not immediately clear.
