11-year-old girl working to help others during pandemic quarantine with making masks

PITTSBURGH — An 11-year-old Wexford girl is spending her spare time helping others amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Using t-shirts, string and pipe cleaner, Ava Arnold is making masks to give away for free.

She's produced more than 150, with each taking about 10 minutes to make.

Her first delivery went to the Roots of Faith church in Sharpsburg, where Channel 11 told you volunteers are giving away food to seniors and others in need.

Ava has launched a Facebook page where you can reach out and follow her journey. She hopes the posts will inspire others to get involved, too.
