PITTSBURGH — Two people were arrested Monday after a SWAT situation in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood that uncovered a marijuana grow operation, police said.
Emergency crews were dispatched about 3:30 p.m. Monday to the 1600 block of Alplaus Street for a domestic situation between a man and woman, according to police.
When officers arrived, the woman went back inside the house with the man. Police said the situation turned into a barricade with the woman possibly being held hostage.

The woman was brought out safely and was unharmed, police said.
The man was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m., and once police found drugs inside the residence, the woman was arrested as well.
Authorities identified the man as Anthony Dirda Jr. and the woman as Marie Anderson.
Officers smelled marijuana upon going into the home and discovered the grow operation, according to a criminal complaint. Thirty Mason jars full of marijuana were found.
Dirda and Anderson are facing drug charges.
