This comes just a month after two other small children in Fayette County drowned in their family's aboveground pool in Uniontown. Three-year-old Hunter Smith and his 1-year-old brother died.

Three weeks ago in Plum, Canayah Mitchell drowned. Police tell Channel 11 her father left her and a little boy alone in a pool. He's charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment.

In the light of these recent tragedies, Channel 11 looked into the safety requirements for standard pools.

If it's an in-ground pool, you must have a 4-foot fence around it and a gate with a latch. For aboveground pools, if the sides of the pools are 48 inches high, they count as a fence. A removable or locked ladder is required and must be removed or locked when the pool is not in use.

State police are still investigating the drowning death of Guziak.
