Allegheny Co. reports 100 new positive COVID-19 cases, 12 new hospitalizations Thursday

PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County reported 100 new positive COVID-19 cases Thursday, along with new 12 hospitalizations, and 3 additional deaths, according to the Allegheny County Health Department.

With Thursday’s new cases, Allegheny County’s total is now at 8,612 cases. In the last 24 hours, the new positive cases come from 1,574 test results from from July 10 through August 5. That is a 6.4% positivity rate.

New cases range in patient age from 8 months to 101 years with an average patient age of 42 years.

The total number of people who have died from coronavirus complications in Allegheny County is 252. The newly reported deaths include one person in the 50-64 age group and two in the 65+ age group with dates of death ranging from July 30 to Aug. 5


Across the state of Pennsylvania, 807 new positive COVID-19 cases were reported, bringing the statewide total to 116,521.

They also reported 38 additional deaths reported across Pennsylvania. There are 7,282 total deaths attributed to COVID-19.

There are 1,183,730 patients who have tested negative to date.
