Beloved local pizza shop owner dies from COVID-19

HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Beaver County pizza shop owner has passed away after being on a ventilator and fighting through COVID-19.

Mark Faiella owned Pizza Masters in Hopewell Township. He came down with COVID-19 in early January and was on a ventilator for the last 12 days.

“It’s hard. You can’t be there. You just want to reach right through the screen so you can hug on him, tell him you are there,” said his wife, Dana Faiella. “We are just taking it day by day, hour by hour.”

Earlier this week, Faiella’s wife made a public plea on social media for prayers for his recovery.

“He’s a people person, and we’re just asking for them to think of him during this time,” Faiella said.

A post on social media Friday announced his death.
