Body of missing person found in Youghiogheny River

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The body of a missing person was recovered from the Youghiogheny River in Rostraver Township, according to the Westmoreland County coroner.

Craig Helsel, 53, of West Mifflin, was reported missing to police on Sunday at around 8 p.m.

According to the coroner’s report, a state police helicopter found the man’s body and rescue teams recovered him from the river at around 10 a.m.

The cause and manner of death are still pending an autopsy and toxicology results.
