PITTSBURGH — The bomb squad was investigating a report of a suspicious package outside the David L. Lawrence Convention Center before declaring it safe.
According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, there was a report of a suspicious package left in that area. People were being asked to avoid the area and Fort Duquesne Boulevard was closed from 10th Street to 11th Street for a time.

This was the second time this month the bomb squad has been called to investigate some suspicious. On July 1, the team was at Penn Avenue and 10th Street to investigate an unattended bag left there.
