Boy, 7, injured in hit-and-run crash in Pittsburgh graduates first grade

PITTSBURGH — A 7-year-old boy injured in a hit-and-run crash earlier this month reached a milestone Wednesday.

Jerry was taken to Children’s Hospital on June 6 after being hit by a car on Churchland Street in Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar.

Zone 5′s Neighborhood Resource Officers learned yesterday that Jerry graduated first grade.

Just last week, the officers stopped by Jerry’s home to check up on him. That’s where they learned about the little boy’s love of video games. The officers returned to the boy’s home later to surprise him with a Nintendo Switch Mario Bros. game.

Police are still investigating the crash and no arrests have been made. The suspect’s car is a black, two-door, older-model BMW, with racing stripes and a modified exhaust.
